Copper IUD

COPPER SPIRAL FOR LONG-LASTING PROTECTION

The IUD is made of plastic and is wrapped with copper wire. It is placed in the uterus by the doctor. The copper changes the environment of the uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes. The copper ions cause the ascending sperm to lose their ability to fertilize. If, exceptionally, fertilization nevertheless occurs, the IUD prevents implantation in the uterine mucosa.
